Information requested

Request if you could provide the following information in relation to cycling accidents:-

The number of cyclists injured in Scotland whilst cycling on the public road from 1 January, 2016 until present;

(a) Aberdeen city and Aberdeenshire; (b) Argyll and Islands; (c) Ayrshire and Arran; (d) Dumfries and Galloway; (e) Dundee and Angus; (f) Edinburgh and the Lothians; (g) Greater Glasgow and the Clyde Valley; (h) The Highlands; (i) The Kingdom of Fife; (j) Loch Lomond, The Trossachs, Stirling and Forth Valley; (k) Orkney; (I) Outer Hebrides; (m) Perthshire; (n) The Scottish Borders; and (o) Shetland."

Information on pedal cyclists involved in accidents is available to you via the Reported Road Casualties Scotland publication which contains figures for 2016. This can be found at:

http://bit.ly/2qHwqB3 Information about injury road accidents in 2017 will be published in Key Reported Road Casualties Scotland in June 2018. Under section 25(1) of FOISA, we do not have to give you information which is already reasonably accessible to you.

The publication does not contain a breakdown of pedal cycle casualties by areas within Scotland. It would also be difficult to obtain a breakdown using the specific areas that have been requested. Below in Annex A is a table with a breakdown of the data by current local authority areas.
