Scottish Survey of Literacy and Numeracy: FOI release
Information requested
You asked for all documents related to, or referencing, the Scottish Survey of Numeracy and Literacy Performance Management Board; and any and all material regarding the use and availability of SSLN assessment resources following the introduction of national standardised testing from September 2014 – present.
Response
I enclose a copy of most of the information you requested. While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide some of the information you have requested because an exemption(s) under section(s) 38(1)(b) (personal information) of FOISA applies to that information. The reason why that exemption applies is explained below.
In addition, carrying out a trawl of information to find "referencing" to the Scottish Survey of Numeracy and Literacy Performance Management Board would mean exceeding the upper cost limit of £600. As you had already previously refined your request to bring the scope within the cost limit we are providing you with the information attached.

Reasons for not providing information
An exemption applies:
An exemption under section 38(1)(b) of FOISA (personal information) applies to some of the information requested because it is personal data of a third party, i.e names and contact details of individuals and disclosing it would contravene the data protection principles in Schedule 1 to the Data Protection Act 1998.
This exemption is not subject to the 'public interest test', so we are not required to consider if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption.
