Response

1. If the £2.15 overcharge occurred from your journeys and all other travel charges brought to our attention are fully recovered from the bus companies and if full recovery is not made can we advise why this is not done?

I can confirm that the substantiated over-staging complaints that you brought to our attention will be deducted from the relevant bus operator in due course. I can also confirm that this is the case for any other substantiated over-staging complaints relating to incidents on or after 1st April 2016 brought to our attention in a timely manner.

For your reference, substantiated over-staging complaints refer to those where a journey has been found to be incorrectly recorded and has attracted a difference in fare from that requested.

2. Has there been any amounts recovered from bus companies in respect of overcharging for the past two financial years? If yes, can we advise the total amount recovered for this purpose?

I can advise that for instances between 01/04/16 & 31/03/17 a deduction of £58.83 was made (in respect of 75 substantiated over-staging complaints) and for instances between 01/04/17 & 31/10/17 a deduction of £45.00 was made (in respect of 39 substantiated over-staging complaints).
