Information requested

All information held by Transport Scotland which identifies the impact on annual subsidies on the Gourock to Dunoon route following the recent Ministerial announcement re the removal of three return sailings and the cost of Stantec’s CNA Report on the Gourock to Dunoon route.

Response

The answers to your questions are noted below;

Recommended reduction of sailings of 10% will reduce costs of fuel and harbour dues by an estimated £100,000 p.a., subject to fluctuations in fuel prices. This would be offset by any reduction in revenue due to lower patronage. Stantec’s Community Needs Assessment report for Cowal and Rosneath cost £24,990. Please note, this covers both Cowal and Rosneath, hence the Cowal share was approximately half this cost.
