The total cost of repairs to the Kingston Bridge on the M8, broken down into a table to reflect every financial year since 2013-14.

The table below shows the construction costs for repairs to the Kingston Bridge main span since the Financial Year 2013/14. The value provided for the current financial year (2024/25) is for costs up to the end of October.
In compiling these financial figures, it was not always possible to identify costs solely for the main span bridge over the River Clyde. The Kingston Bridge Complex covers several different structures and schemes such as resurfacing will have a total cost for the complex and not be broken done per structure. This explains some of the variation in sums of monies over the years.
Costs associated with investigation, design and environmental surveys have not been included in order to determine construction only costs as the query requested. The figures provided do not include for inspections, cyclic maintenance or winter maintenance on the bridge since these are included in lump sum payments for the whole South West trunk road unit and cannot be individually identified.
The negative value in FY 2023/24 is the result on an over claim occurring in FY 2022/23 and a credit being issued in the following financial year.
