Non-domestic rates business number breakdown: FOI release
Information requested
A time-series breakdown, by year, of number of properties and rateable value by the same property core categories [as in Table G of non-domestic rates relief statistics 2024] as of June of each year from 2015 to 2024. You additionally asked for this to include both the numbers for all properties, and the numbers for properties which aren’t zero-rated.

I enclose a copy of most of the information you requested.
Whilst our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have some of the information you have requested. This is because snapshots of the valuation roll were not consistently saved for 1 June in each year. For years where we do not hold information for 1 June, I have attached data for the closest date for which information is available, which is 1 July in most cases.
