Information requested

Data detailing the number of road deaths which occurred in Fife, and in north east Scotland, in the months of May, June and July of this year.

Response

The records we hold relate to collisions where someone is injured or killed, and which become known to Police Scotland. The following table provides information based on what is collected. Please note that figures for 2024 are provisional as they are based on monthly returns received thus far from Police Scotland in 2024, with the most recent returns being received on 10th October 2024. This may be an incomplete picture of casualties up to that date due to a slight lag between records processed by Police Scotland and data availability. These figures are also subject to change due to subsequent corrections and late records.

For the purposes of the figures provided, ‘the North East’ is made up of the following local authority areas: Aberdeen City; Aberdeenshire; Angus; Dundee City; and Moray.

Road deaths in Fife and North East Scotland May, June and July 2024 May June July Total Fife 1 2 1 4 North East Scotland 1 3 2 6 Total 2 5 3 10
