Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) school estate survey returns: EIR release
Information requested
A copy of all the survey returns that Local Authorities provided over July and August 2023 about the presence of Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) in the school estate.

I can confirm that the Scottish Government holds information falling within the scope of your request. All information held that is in scope, with the exception of exempt material, is attached in Annex A and Annex B of this letter.
An exception under regulation 11(2) of the EIRs (personal information) applies to some of the information requested because it is personal data of a third party and disclosing it would contravene the data protection principles in Article 5(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation and in section 34(1) of the Data Protection Act 2018. This exception is not subject to the 'public interest test', so we are not required to consider if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exception.
You may wish to note that these surveys were collated and organised by the Scottish Futures Trust, on behalf of the Scottish Government. You may therefore wish to contact them directly if you would like further information on the surveys.
The information provided in this response does not cover all local authorities in Scotland, nor does it cover the ongoing work within local authorities to survey all their schools and ELC settings. We know that local authorities have continued their work to survey their school estate out with the time period in your request and we have remained in contact with them, via Scottish Futures Trust, to understand the full extent of RAAC in schools across Scotland.
