Information requested

All correspondence between the Scottish Government and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service regarding former Chief Fire Officer Martin Blunden, limiting the dates of correspondence to 5 January 2022 until 29 March 2022 inclusive.

Response

I enclose a copy of some of the information you requested. While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide some of the information you have requested because an exemptions under sections Section 36(2) (actionable breach of confidence), Section 30(b) (free and frank provision of advice or exchange of views) and s.38(1)(b) (personal information) of FOISA applies to that information. The reasons why these exemptions apply are explained in the Annex to this letter.
