Information requested

Any information, letters, guidance, emails, or other correspondence, from 1 January 2014, between the Scottish Government and a) its agencies, b) non-departmental public bodies, c) public corporations, regarding the application of the Scottish Living Wage within the public sector pay policy.

Response

A copy of the information requested is attached. Please note, to ensure that we could provide all relevant information within the £600 cost limit, we have only included correspondence relating to specific queries regarding the application of the Scottish Living Wage within the pay policy over the period. We have excluded all correspondence which relates to a public body confirming that they are compliant with the extant pay policy.

We have provided the information in a table by public body and date of relevant correspondence (FOI 17 00949 – Public sector pay policy and Scottish Living Wage – August (13pp)). Please note that some information for National Galleries of Scotland (pages 3,4 and 5) and Scottish Prisons Service (page 11) has been redacted as s.38(1)(b) (personal information) of FOISA applies to that information.

The public sector pay policy and supporting technical guides (which set out the details of applying the pay policy) was made available to all public bodies and these are available on our webpages at: www.gov.scot/publicsectorpay

In addition, in 2014 two updates were circulated to all public bodies covered by the pay policy to provide further information on the application of the living wage:

Scottish Living Wage Accreditation – Response to PCS correspondence (email issued 25 September 2014) (1pp) Finance Pay Policy Note Update – No. 02/14: Public Sector Pay Policy and the Scottish Living Wage (issued 11/11/2014) (2pp)
